Parenthesis is a play of words: Parent - My last name, combined with Thesis - my theory of living a happy, healthy, abundant life. It involves nurturing the mind, body and soul though a more natural approach. I believe in eating a clean diet, yoga, Ayurveda, Qigong, using Reiki, EFT Tapping, Essential Oils, Transfer Factors (and much more!) to help the body balance and heal itself whenever possible.

I've practiced this lifestyle for some time now, fine tuning it and discovering what works best for me. I gladly share my insights whenever I get the chance. After all, what good is knowledge if you don't share it? In today's world, it is necessary to educate yourself, nurture yourself, and evolve. I love to read, and have an ongoing list of favorites. Below is a list of books, website links, videos and other resources that I recommend on some of my favorite subjects. I've found them very informative, and think you will, too. I strongly encourage you to form your own opinion about how to live YOUR best life possible. What works for me may not work for you. If you have any suggested reading you'd like to tell me about, please email me!

Most of these subjects run into the next. They are all complementary and I find that the lines between them are often blurred.

Diet/Nutrition/Healing with Food
•Medical Medium by Anthony William - This book explains where disease comes from and how to cure it with food and detoxification. Very eye-opening and yet so simple. I do my best to follow his suggestions. He has several other books, which go into further detail. This one is the first in the series.

•Yoga: A Path for Healing and Recovery by James Fox. This is a great book, especially for anyone who is recovering from addiction, abuse, or incarcerated. I trained under James in the Prison Yoga Project, and am a certified PYP instructor through his program. It has Taoist Yoga sequences and great meditations. From the website, you can send a prisoner a book. This program is very dear to me!
•A Morning Cup of Yoga by Jane Goad Trechsel - Sweetly written with wonderful modifications to simplify your yoga practice.
•Anatomy for Yoga by Jenkins and Brandon
•Mega Yoga by Megan Garcia - Proof that you don't have to be skinny to do yoga.
•A Morning Cup of Pilates by Marsha K. Dorman - Another simple practice for anyone seeking a place to start with moving meditation.

•The Qigong Bible by Katherine Allen - By far the best book I've found on qigong.
•A Morning Cup of Tai Chi by John A. Bright-Fey - This book takes the difficulty out of Tai Chi and makes it fun accessable for anyone. I love this book!
•A Morning Cup of Qigong by John A. Bright-Fey - Another great book in this series. I love them all!

•The Artist Way by Julia Cameron - This book changed my life. I was artistically blocked and this gave me the tools to work through my mental hang ups and fog. I highly recommend anything by Julia Cameron. It's not just for artists, either.
•Awakening to the Sacred by Lama Surya Das
•Angels for everyday Living by Jacky Newcomb
•Simple Taoism: A Guide to Living in Balance (Simple Series) by C. Alexander Simpkins

•Essential Guide to Chakras by Swami Saradananda - So much good informationon how the Chakras area connected to everything.
•Chakras for Everyday Living by Liz Simpson and Patricia Mercer - Includes ways to use essential oils, meditation, crystals and yoga to help balance the chakras.

•Reiki for Everyday Living - Eleanor Mckenzie
•Essential Reiki, a Complete Guide to An Ancient Healing Art by Diane Stein - Recommended to me by my Reiki Master.
•The Reiki Healing Handbook by Janet Green

I suggest that you do not get overly distracted by meditations that guide you to far away places. They are fun, but I have found that meditations focusing on the breath or a body scan (maybe with colors or chakras) are much more beneficial and centering.

Many of the books listed also have meditations in them. My favorites are:
•Loving Kindess Meditation (Metta Meditation.) An internet search will provide many versions, some in audio and some of just the script.
•Color meditiation (chakras)
•Square Breathing
